Terms of service

The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Kaine Ventures, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“we”, “us”), which operates Trackbuddy. They cover the Trackbuddy iPhone app and the website www.trackbuddy.co. You accept them in the app before you post, log or share anything, and by using the website. The privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Who can use Trackbuddy
You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you. Athletes under 18 get protected privacy defaults that they can’t turn off: no public profile, no public sessions, no listing in open search and approval for every follower.
Your account
Give accurate information, including your age, and use one account for yourself. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app’s Settings.
Your content
You own what you log and upload: sessions, marks, notes, photos, videos, comments and your profile. You give us permission to store, copy, process (for example, to make smaller copies of photos and videos) and show that content to the people your visibility settings allow, only to run and improve Trackbuddy. The permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already shared within Trackbuddy and records we must keep by law.
Content rules
Don’t post, upload or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or demeans anyone;
- attacks people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- is sexual, or sexualizes anyone. We report content that exploits minors to the authorities;
- shows a person who asked you not to post them, or a minor without the agreement of the minor and their parent, guardian or coach;
- impersonates someone or misrepresents who you are;
- you have no right to share, or that breaks the law or encourages others to;
- is spam, advertising or a scam.
Trackbuddy checks text that others can see when you post it and rejects clear slurs, threats and explicit terms. Don’t try to break, probe, scrape or overload the service, or get around a block, a suspension or the protections for minors.
Reporting and blocking
You can report any session, rep, photo, video, comment, mark, profile or team from its menu in the app. We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms and suspend the accounts of people who post abusive content.
Blocking someone hides the two of you from each other everywhere in Trackbuddy and ends any follow or coach connection between you. Hiding a session, mark or comment removes it from your own view only. You can also write to hello@trackbuddy.co about content or behavior you want us to look at. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Coaches and teams
An athlete decides what each coach can do. Joining a team gives its coaches no right to edit your sessions and no access to your health details. You grant either one when you join or later, and you can take it back at any time.
A coach you grant edit access to:
- can log, correct, finish and reopen your sessions. Every change carries the coach’s name;
- can delete sessions the coach created. A deleted session with results goes to your Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can restore it; one with no results, such as an unused plan, is removed at once. A coach can’t delete sessions you logged yourself;
- can make a session’s visibility narrower than your default, never wider, and never public.
When you take back the access or remove the coach, the coach loses edit and delete rights at once, and every session stays with you.
Coaches and team admins may log for, invite and manage only athletes who agreed to it, and must enter results honestly. Team admins manage membership and invites; an athlete can leave a team at any time.
Training and health
Trackbuddy is a training log. It doesn’t give medical advice. Talk to a doctor before you start or change training, and stop when something hurts. Personal bests, wind flags and season bests in the app describe your own records; official results come from the meet and its officials.
The service
Trackbuddy is free to use at launch. If paid features come later, you see the price before you buy anything, and Apple’s terms cover the payment. We add, change and remove features over time, and we work to keep the service available, but it can be interrupted.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to maintain or support the app and isn’t responsible for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app also follows the App Store’s terms.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Trackbuddy and delete your account at any time. We may remove content, suspend an account or close it when someone breaks these terms or the law, or puts other people at risk. A suspended account can still sign in, read its own data, report, block and delete itself. Where we can, we tell you why.
Disclaimers and liability
Trackbuddy is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, Kaine Ventures, LLC isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about Trackbuddy is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law where you live that can’t be limited by contract.
Law
The laws of the State of Texas govern these terms, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes
When these terms change, the version and the date at the top change with them, and the app asks you to accept the new version before you post or log again.
